Can I replace my 93 850 radio/cassette with a newer late 90's radio/cassette/cd player 850 1993

I want to have a cd player in my 93 850 GLT and was curious if I got a newer late 90's radio that has a cd player included with it can I just switch them? I know I would need the radio code for the new one, but is the wiring the same and is it the same size and fit in the same place??
