lower shock absorber mount(stud) snapped, help! 850 1994

I have a 1994 wagon. It has 150,000 miles on it and the struts and shocks are very old. I removed the passenger side shock upper and lower no problem. On the driver side however the bolt on the stud snapped right off(it is an 18 or 19 mm I believe), it snapped pretty easily. Now I have almost no thread and want to know do those studs come out, can I replace it, or does the whole arm need replacing? If that little stud comes out how is the best way to do it. Is it welded or bolted on? What is a good technique for removing the stud if they are replaceable, it is plenty corroded down there. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. If I had had this work done at my local shop it would have snapped on them too. What would they do? I am 75 miles from any Volvo dealer.
