I'm new to this board and have never owned a Volvo...allways Saabs and Audis. I'm looking at a one owner 95 850GLT Wagon with 130,000 miles for my wife to drive. The car looks to be in excellent shape mechanically and cosmetically(interior and exterior). All electrical components work, as does the A/C. The car has been exclusively serviced by the Volvo dealer from whom it was purchased. The owner will accept $4,500, which seems fair to me.
My one concern is that the oil and filter have been consistently changed at 10,000 miles...the interval recommended by both the Owners Manual and the Volvo dealer that has serviced the car.(I spoke to the service manager.) This interval seems excessive to me! I have allways changed oil and filter at 3,000 miles in all my vehicles.
I would be very interested in feedback from anyone who has done oil changes at 10,000 miles on their Volvo or, for that matter, on any automobile. Am I asking for trouble buying a car with this service record.
Any feedback will be much appreciated.
