A/C receiver/dryer connection 850

I am replacing the receiver dryer on my 1994 850..one hose connection is a standard fitting, while the other is some type of suction fitting (I think it is called that)...how do you get it apart? I have been pulling it and twisting it, but it will not come loose...is there some clip or something I need to remove or release to get it apart?
