Front Wheel bearing for 850T 850 1995

I need the right front wheel bearing replaced in my '95 850T wagon, and was wondering how involved a job this is. I've never done the job before...am I better off letting the shop do it? I've also heard rumors that if one wheel bearing goes, the other side is usually on its way out as well, and that you should just go ahead and replace both at the same time. Fact or Fiction?
