brake fluid level warning light 850

i changed the fluid in my master cylinder and now i can't get the brake light to stay off on the dash, i can move the float thing on the filler cap and make the light go out, but when i put the cap back on the resevior th light comes back on! the fluid level is between the max and min so wht is causing this, how can i fix it?
