Fuel Leak @ Fuel tank 850 1996

The check engine light recently went on and my indy mechanic advised the code was PO442(fuel evaporator leak; OK to drive??) and he reset the light and it came on again. Today he reset it and asked me to fill the fuel tank and check for seepage at the filler neck conection. I filled it and sure enough there was considerable seepage at the filler neck conection to the tank. Anyone with any info re solutions and possible recalls, etc., please advise. Thanks JHS
