Exhaust manifold breakage 850

Hi folks,

My exhaust manifold is cracked at several places around the
collector area and the car is getting noisier weeks after weeks.
An indy muffler shop advised me to fix it, i,e: welding all the cracks
with a mig welding machine in instead of replacing it.
The manifold OEM price is roughly $500 with the gaskets...

Any recommendations / experiences ?
