Is there a fuel check valve in an 850? 850

My 850 has always been a very slow starter whenever it has been switched off for more than a few mins. It always has started though, and runs fine.
I have seen on other models, that there is a check valve that holds the fuel pressure in the supply rail after shutdown. If this fails, the engine needs to be cranked for several seconds to build fuel pressure again before the engine will start.
Seems likely that this may be my problem. Does anyone know where the check valve is, and is it possible to check it/fix it.
Also, what is the small flat cylinder in the fuel line? It is positioned under the floor of the car, just before the fuel line rises up into the engine bay.

Cheers,
