My AC compressor is not kicking on and I have been debugging the problem and think in may be a faulty relay. There is no voltage present on the connector of the low pressure switch and I figure that the only thing between +12V and the switch is the A/C relay. (Fuse is OK.)
I didn't have the courage to jumper terminals 30-87 as I read in the archive. I want to cofirm that this will cause no harm before proceeding. Is this a mechanical relay or solid state relay. I switched the A/C on and off while listening to the relay with a stethascope and there was no clicking.
Thanks for your help. Anyone want to make odds on the possibility of my needing a new evaporator anyway?
P.S. Is it common to find speaker magnets sitting on top of the glove box? Another job for another day.
