I can't get the AC compressor clutch to engage. Thought it was low on freon, which it probably is, so I jumpered around the Low Pressure Switch. No help. Checked for voltage at both terminals of Cable Connector to LPS ----- NO +12V on either terminal.
AC Compressor Fuse is good.
Removed the AC relay --- 500 Ohms measured between terminals 85 and 86, but no "click" when +12 V applied across terminal 86(+) and terminal 85(-). Probably bad.
Terminal 30 of A/C relay socket has +12V when A/C switch is on. Terminal 86 of A/C relay socket has +12 V when AC switch is on and fan switch is on.
I put a jumper between terminal 30 and terminal 87 of A/C relay socket. Still no +12V at either terminal of Cable Connector to LPS. I thought one contact in the LPS Cable Connector was directly connected to terminal 87 of the A/C relay socket.
What do I check next? I hope to get the A/C compresser running so I can find out that I need a new $1200.00 evaporator.
TIA
Dan
