Hi,
I'm looking at this certified 2000 XC70 for $20,995 with 44,000 mi., down from 28,995-plus 8 months ago, and I'm confused by a few things: my impression was that all AWD V70s, with or without the Cross-Country package, came with low-pressure turbos, but one that I'm looking at is non-turbo. Doesn't seem worth it to have a non-turbo AWD, due to the extra weight. Are there turbo XC70s from that year out there?
2. I don't remember seeing a TRACS switch on the dash in this car. Again, I thought that was also std. on XC models(if not on regular AWD models).
3. What does the "SE" mean on this car? The salesperson couldn't answer that question for me. And I'm thinking it just means this car's dark, glossy wood-tone steering wheel instead of the usual textured gray plastic. (Although I'm also cynically thinking "SE" might mean "AWD with no turbo.")
4. If the price dropped by more than $8,000 in 8 months, will this car be worth less than $10,000 in a year from now? If I buy it and don't like it, could I possibly sell it for a small profit during the upcoming Winter? That is to say, is the price drop because we're in Summer(finally!). The car is in the Philadelphia, PA area.
Thanks for any of your additional thoughts. I'm a long time reader of BrickBoard and own a S90(money pit) w/ 113,000 and a 240(chunky workhorse) w/ 152,000. Both going strong, although the S90 has been a rollercoaster, if you know what I mean. I'm mainly attracted by the price and convenient location of the dealer of this XC70.
