Transmission Servive Urgent Msg. S80 1999

Just got a msg. "Transmission Service Urgent". I have 74,860 miles on my S80 T-6. Apox. six months ago I had the fluid replaced with Mobil 1 synthetic. The transmission is still operating normal as far as I can tell. The fluid's color is normal and there is no abnormal smell. I did find a carbon type residue on the dip stick. Any ideas of what might be the trouble and should I be really concerned? Thanks in advance for the input! Dave
