1998 volvo v70 cross country, 87k, AT, just bought it couple of month ago.
Driveway to our house is steep, and couple of days ago my wife managed to back up the car
on the road with transmission being in DRIVE ! That was only for about 12ft, but it feels
like something is damaged in tranny.
More specifically, in turns (or when road is just curvy) if throttle is applied, there is
a vibration of the whole car and that crunchy sound. In the same turn, if I take foot of
the throttle, it is smooth. Again, acceleration on straights feels 100% ok.
Question: Can that be something else except tranny ? (I just can not beleive that it is so
easy to kill tranny in those cars). Well, if it is infamous bevel gear failure (AWD), it is not
much better, right ? :)
