I plan to have a remote car starter installed by someone who (I think) is an experienced/expert installer. I have no reason to expect he has any experience with Volvos. I've heard horror stories about cars that are not amenable to remote starters (e.g. anti-theft chips in the key, manual transmissions, etc.), and even more horror stories about bad installation jobs (e.g., windows and moon-roof open when car is started).
Does anyone know of any anything unique or peculiar about my car that I should point out to the installer, or that should cause me to abandon my plans entirely?
Also (and this may be relevant to the remote starter question), there's a little red light on top of the dash that blinks when I lock my car. Is that a real security system, or is it just there to scare away the knuckleheads?
Thanks in advance.
