XC ffront brakes/bearings V70-XC70

Interesting talk on the brakes people...I used PBR's for quite awhile on my 245GLT with good results. My '99 XC might be another animal. While doing brakes this weekend, I was amazed at the rotor material loss! (75000) Then I see 'replace the rotors every other brake job'. Man, what did I get into?
Still putting the PBRs on so we'll see if they squeal(I use black permatex on the back of the pads. If the pads warp the cheap rotors, than back to stock and related dust.................
Another note...in trying to also find the front end noise on the AWD XC, guys from Volvo tell me to tighten the axle nut "as tight as you can". I look on my wagon and see a 14mm nut there (rather than the honkin' unit on the '98) and newer. I'm sure i can twist it off.....I'm beating on the hubs now,,,would appreciate any insights in getting the front bearing unit off/fixed .......thanks all
