Having trouble recharging A/C 850 1995

I know the steps to recharging the A/C, in fact did it successfully last summer. I just can't seem to get the hose on to the valve. Any helpful hints? Even better if someone could e-mail me or post a picture of the valve with cap off. Thanks in advance!
