Steam Cleaning - any advice? 850

Dear Brickboard

I have been thinking about getting the engine bay steamed out.. the most problems I am getting with the car have been related to bad electrical contacts. Thankfully a little patience and time given has resolved most of my issues with the car with minimum cost.

So I think the time has come to steam her out. I am worried that the steam or water will affect some of the electrical components, ECU etc.

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations regarding cleaning the engine bay, I am not looking for a show condition just clean?

Is there a manual way of doing it?
