What is a good type of oil. 850

Dear Brickboard

I am going to change my engine oil tomorrow.

What is a good type of oil? The last shop put in Castrol GTX 15w 60 2000 miles ago and I want to put in the correct grade/api.

Also with the API rating, how do I choose an oil of a higher rating than in the manual? I want to get the longest life out of the motor.

I would love to hear your advice on the engines blood.
