I've never written on a board like this before, but the information I found here helped me resolve a longstanding issue with my 2001 V70 T5 Manual (43K miles) -- annoying suspension noises when traveling < 30 miles/hr over uneven surfaces. Several people have expressed this concern and this board has a number of ideas that I was able to bring to the dealer. Approx. a month ago, I had the left ball joint replaced due to a clicking sound (easily reproduced by pressing up and down on the front bumper). This did not resolve the rumbling at low speeds. I brought it back to the dealer today and they replaced both R/L Front Sway Bars and the other ball joint on the right. As of tonight, I'm noise free!! My BMW plans are on hold for now. I was ready to take the massive depreciation hit just to escape the unknown, additional expenses I've read about on this board.
Are there any experts out there who believe this noise-relief will be short-lived on the T5?
Should these repairs hold out for a while or are the suspension noises/deterioration inevitable on this type of vehicle?
Thanks, Lisa (aggressive driver in NH)
