Central locking & dome light problem 1986

Hi. Did the authors of earlier postings get a resolution to this problem?

My girlfriend has a 1986 Volvo 240 wagon. The interior light does not always work. When it is not working, the central locking system is also out, and the ignition chime rings when the door is opened even though the key is not in it.

These problems are tied together because whenever the interior light fuctions properly, so does the central locking system.

What can be done to fix this? Is it a bad ground or other loose wire connection? I don't know where to start to solve this one.
