Continued Check Engine light... will the oil break down? 850

My check engine light is on. I will clear it when I have time to.
The OBD2 engine computer does default and run the injectors "rich" with the C.E. light on...right?
Will the engine oil get too much exposure to gaseous fumes in the crankcase, thus breaking it down. Ran without a gas cap for a while.
