If I turn the engine off and push down on the motor on the passenger side, there is a loud metal clanking sound from the pressure, coming from the bottom of the engine. When I drive the car, especially in the first 2 gears, it rocks alot and makes a lot of metal contact noise. I pulled the passenger wheel and it appears that the lower motor mount (non-hydraulic mount) is going bad. The part isn't expensive, however I noticed that the 2 bolts that mount to the frame are nearly impossible, even for an air ratchet to get to. I know I have to brace the engine when I pull the mount, and probably remove the upper mount. One bolt is about an inch from the pulley on the power steering and the other looks to be near the timing belt cover (or something like that, I don't remember). Anyway, has anyone ever pulled this mount ??? If so, can you provide a fool proof method, a no BS assessment on whether I should bother with this myself and how much time I'm looking at ???
I have some other questions I'll post separately, if you guys wouldn't mind helping out.
