I'll be buying a new station wagon or van next spring, the V70 is on my short list primarly because I can get it with a 5-speed manual. However, it looks like very few are sold in the US with 5-speed manual, thus I may end up ordering one.

My question is this: There is currently a $4,000 manufacturer to dealer rebate on the V70 (per edmunds.com). Assuming this is still around when I buy, is this rebate effective for cars that are ordered (not bought off of the lot)? If it is in effect, it will let me order exactly what I want (V70, moonroof, versatility package), and start my bargaining point by much less.
