Rear Hatch Switch V70-XC70 1998

I have a 98 XC that has been a love/hate experience. For some reason when I try to close the rear hatch, the light won't go off. I know that the door is closing. I can turn it off with the switch on the roof light, but the dash light saying that a door is open won't turn off, which means that I can't set the alarm when I use the keyless entry. I assume it's the switch, but I have no idea where that is. Any suggestions? I am reasonably mechanical, so I would probably be able to replace it on my own, I just don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated.
