Towbar electrics V70-XC70 1999

Can anyone give me any advise about connecting towbar sockets into the vehicle electrical circuits? I understand there may be connectors already on the car behind the tail light cluster. I have looked and seen black, green and yellow connector/plug type units but I don't know what each one of them does. Is there a Volvo electrical pack for towbars and is it worth buying?
