Throttlebody V70-XC70 2000

The throttlebody on my 2000 xcountry with 86,000 kilometers has apparently packed it in. Cost to replace $720 plus 200 labour. Just out of warranty, 80,000K. No support from Volvo Canada or the dealer. The throttlebody had been cleaned at the 48K service. Doesn't seem right to me. Any comments.
