Hello all,
I posted last week about my check engine light coming on. It sounds like my car has no muffler--it roars when I drive, sometimes to the point when I had to block my ears!! I obviously didn't drive it at all, until today when I drove 15 mi to the dealer.

Basically I just got the results of the diagnostic: Catalytic converter needs replacement, along with two oxygen sensors. The price (with labor) ~$1500. Does this sound right to all of you? Why would a faulty catalytic convertor cause the car to roar like this? Any help would be appreciated!!! The parts need to be ordered soon.
