Removing Heater Hoses at Firewall 850 1997

I'm a new DIY and used to old style hose clamps. How do I get at and remove the heater hoses? (1997 854GLT) Access is limited, and does the metal part stay and the hose unattaches or does the metal part come out from the fire wall?
