Car in question is a 1885 850 BLT that I have had since new. Now with 95K miles. Planning on replacing shocks/struts and mounts for same.
I ride on nice roads, and I ride on cruddy roads. My commute takes me over some of the worst railroad track crossings around. Need good all-around shocks. Not looking to race, but don't like to lean like my father's caddy in the corners either!
The 850 has always been a bit harsh on potholes, etc, even when new. I searched the archives and there seems to be no concensus, so I thought I'd write and see if there are any fresh opinions out there.
IPD Bilsteins, I suspect, will be too harsh a ride. IPD's Bilstein TC shocks seem like perhaps a nice compromise shock/strut, as do the origingal Boge replacements. I had Monroe Sensa-Track brand on another vehicle and they seemed fine. Heck, I just don't know what to put on this Brick and given the cost I don't want to make a mistake here.
Any advice for the truly clueless?
Thanks, Tony
