door trim piece damaged 850

I have a 97 850. Somehow the front passenger side door trim piece was damaged, so that when I open the door, the trim catches on the front quarterpanel and buckles the trimpiece. The only way I can open the door safely is by pushing on the trim at the front, and simultaneously open the door to push the trim inside the panel.

Any suggestions on a quick fix before I run to the dealer with my taillights between my legs?
