Heater ? 1995 850 GLT 850 1995

I receive heat only on the driver side of my 1995 GLT wagon. The fan works (though squeaks intermittently), but blows cold air on the passenger side. Prior to this happening, two things occurred: the fan started sqeaking, then stopped, and the control knob that allows me to toggle from windshield defrost to floor heat became hard to turn and then popped off. I put it back on and the control seems to work fine. Any suggestions?
