PNP/Neutral Safety/Gear Position Switch 850

I just replaced the Gear Position Switch on a 94 850. Not too bad of a job. The tricky part was separating the connectors.
I wanted to let everyone know that the switch is available from Auto Zone for $46 + shipping. ($135 at local Volvo dealer) It is not a stock item but they can order it at the stores. They call it "Neutral Safety Switch". It is made by Wells (Japan) and it looks identical to the one I removed.
After installing the new one I disassembled the old switch. I believe now that I could have saved the cost of a new switch by cleaning up the old one. The only problem was the lubricant becomes hard and gummy causing the spring loaded (wiper) contacts to hang up, thus the intermittent contact. That's why problems/failures usually happen in colder weather.
A tip on connector disassembly. Leave the housing bolted in place when pulling the connectors out. Insert the small screwdriver at the end opposite the wires and pull up with pliers on the plastic where the wires enter.
Keep-em-rolling!
