We recently had a problem with the automatic door locks on our 1993
Volvo 850. Basically, the locking mechanism that opens all of the door
locks when you unlock the door with the key stopped working. Since this
meant that we couldn't open the gas tank (we didn't find out about the
manual override until much later) we decided to take it to a dealer. At
first they said that some type of driver's lock mechanism had to be
replaced, along with the fuel door solenoid. Apparently that didn't
work. Then they said that the same assembly on the passenger side had to
be replaced. But this didn't solve the problem either. So, here I am 7
days later, with the parts and labor reaching $600 and the problem isn't
even fixed. Any advice or leads?
