leather wheel cover

has anyone installed a leather steering wheel cover on a v70 w/a leather wheel? dealer says the covers are for non leather wheels only and ipd has one advertised as being for any 850 or v70, i have a leather wheel and it is damaged. im trying to avoid replacing the entire wheel
