SC 815 radio versus SC 816 in a 850

Looking to replace my 95 850 radio with a CD type. On ebay many SC-816s are available but I found a SC 815. Is one from the 850 and the other from the 960? Is there a big difference? All 960 radios will fit the 850s and vice versa?

Plus, will the dealer give you the security code without the hassle of trotting the unit to the dealer? On my 93 850 I have the code - on the 95 850 the previous owner did not have if written down - I have not disconnected the battery on the 95 yet and not faced that issue!
