corrosion problem in the wiring harness connectors or a bad ground? S80 1999

This is the S80 T6. We just spent $1,300 to have the mass airflow sensor and electronic throttle module replaced. As if that's not enough, 2 days later, the turn signals don't work. Went to an independent Volvo mechanic and they said it's a faulty steering wheel module. They say it has to go to the dealership because they're not allowed to have the proper diagnostics to work on it...(Thanks a boat load Volvo...) The dealership says it will be $250 - 300 if it's just the module, but if it's the 'harness', double that expense. Got that over the phone, letting the car sit, scared to drive it now, can't afford it anymore. My friend, a mechanic, asks if there could be a corrosion problem n the wiring harness or a bad ground, because it's having TOO MANY electrical failures. He's says that, "Everything points to some sort of common electrical problem." We cannot work on the car ourselves so we're at the mercy of the dealership AGAIN, and cannot afford all these repairs. Anybody want to buy it???? Does anyone agree with my friend, and if so, can we do something else to fix it without spending another wad at the dealership??? Thanks kindly.
