On my 2nd transmission-problems persist-HELP V70-XC70 2001

I have a V70 non turbo v70 wagon. The car currently has 30,000 miles on it. At 15,000 miles the original transmision was replaced after a lot of effort on my part. The dealer plugged a computer module in my car and when symptoms occured(tach would zoom to 4000 rpm going from 1st to 2nd gear and the car would go nowhere)I pushed a red button. Long and short was they found that the gears in the transmission were defective.

Yesterday the car surged between 2nd and 3rd gears(same effect-car tach goes to 4000 rpm and the engine would surge but car would not engage into gear for a few seconds. Happened to me 3 times. At this point I am totally frustrated with the performance of this car. Can't Volvo make a decent transmission that lasts more than 15,000 miles. I have lost total confidence in this car.

I have read where there is new software out there too prevent this. Does anyone have any experience with this working to correct this problem. In reading other comments on this website I can see where I am not alone in this problem.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what my options are. Thank heaven I leased this vehicle. Was hoping to buy it at end of lease as I own 3 s70's that have performed well, but at this point I don't think so. Might try another manufacturer. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Mike
