I leased a 2001 v70 non turbo(39 month lease that I made 30 Payments on), that went through 2 transmissions in 30,000 miles. Volvo agreed yesterday to buy me out and pay my last 9 payments. I then upgraded to a 2004 lease 2.5T. When I add all my monthly payments plus my cap cost reduction, the acquistion fee and the residual at the end of the New lease it comes to $500.00 under invoice. I picked up the 2.5T yesterday with the sport package and 17 inch wheels and I like it.
I believe that Volvo treated me fairly in this situation. Any thoughts? Just for the heck of it I called two other dealers in the area to get quotes on the same lease on this car and they were both About $150.00 a month more. I guess I am glad I was persistent. Initially they wanted to try a new transmmision in the V70 and I told them that was unacceptable and that I had lost confidence in the car. I own 3 other s70's. As I said earlier I think Volvo did the right thing by me but I will tell you I am glad I leased the original V70 and did not buy it.
