I have a 1998 V70XC that has been experiencing some serious acceleration problems in weather below -20C. The engine will not rev out until it warms up for 20 minutes. I was looking under the hood while reving the engine and noticed that the rubber hose from the intercooler to the throttle body was colapsing with rpm. I left the car in a heated garage overnight and the problem went away, until it sat in cold tempatures and the problem came back. Is it possible that something in the intercooler is freezing and limiting air movement? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is a bit of a problem living in Canada. This is my first Volvo and it is a learning experience.
