I have a 1997 850 GLT. I have been having trouble with a small (albeit smelly)leak emminating from the end of the large metal coolant pipe which runs over the top of the engine, where it connects to a small rubber hose just before it enters the turbo unit. I pulled it all apart to replace the short section of hose and clamps, only to discover what appeared to be oil inside the hose! What on earth have I stumbled on here? This all happened within a day or two of checking my oil level, only to find some gunky white stuff on the dipstick. I was very, very afraid, until I read a couple dozens old posts about the gunky white stuff that seems to be a common cold weather, short drive, condensation scare tactic, and nothing to actually be concerned about. But the oil in the pipe still has me worried. The oil looks fresh and clean. Any idea what is going on here?
Thanks in advance.
