Timing belt tensioner on '98 S70 S70 1998

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the hydraulic timing belt tensioner with the newer mechanical belt tentioner to increase the life of the timing belt? I'm approaching timing belt #3 and it's kind of a pain...
