Okay,
I moved from a 1989 760 Turbo wagon to a gorgeous midnight blue with dark interior 1998 V70 XC with gortex/leather trim seats.
But, it came with a few "issues." Turns out the previous owner had a Bell Atlantic Mobile cell phone installed into the car (mic over the visor, attenna drilled thru glass and mounted, ball-stem on lower-right of center console to hold the phone. Phone is gone. Mic and antenna are still there.
But, my lower (under the dash) courtesy light for the driver was not working tonight. I've had the car about 3 weeks. Still finding what's wrong. Most things I've dealt with easily. But, I pull out the light to change the bulb and what do I find... no wiring harness. Further inspection shows taped wires going over the brake pedal leading to the center console. Little yank on the wires and they are loose. Definately part of the courtesy light wiring was used for the phone???? Very odd.
My question for help is simple. Can someone tell me the COLOR of the wires going to the lower courtesy light on the driver's side? I can put new blade ends on the wires and slide onto the light housing. What I see sticking out are four wires which makes me nervous. So, any insight would be much appreciated. My quick glance noticed a thick red wire - I'm assuming that's constant 12V but the other three are questionable. My first goal is to get the courtesy light working again.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes 5 or 10 minutes to pull their light out and check the wiring.
