Soft Brakes in the morning S40-V40

Last fall we purchased a 2000 V40. Currently having a small issue with the brakes. First thing in the morning (or if it has sat for many hours) when you start out the brakes are soft, like the pistons retracted and you have to pump them up. Is this a common issue? I only noticed it after the weather turned colder, could that cause it? I would like to get it taken care of soon as we still have a couple of months and 1000 miles left on warrenty, but of course the dealer would have to leave it sit for hours or overnight to see the problem.
