Uneven Idle Speed V70-XC70 1999

I recently noticed that my idle speed fluctuates about 100rpm when the car is in neutral. It will hold steady at 900rpm in drive. Has anyone else experienced this condition? Does anyone have an idea as to what may be causing this problem? The Check Engine light is off the car seems fine in all other respects. Thanks for your help.
