850 spark plugs 850 1996

Hello list,
I haven't had my 850 long enough to pick up a service manual. It only has 40,000 miles but I wanted to go ahead and change out the plugs. This might be a very stupid question, but if you have ever owned a FWD GM sedan you know that you can't easily change the plugs without removing motor mounts and prying up the engine. Totalling that Grand Prix was the best thing that has ever happened to me. Anyhow, I was wondering if changing the plugs on the N/A I-5 was as simple as removing the engine cover with the plugs being right underneath. Is there anything critical in the removal of the cover, or is it as straight forward as I hope it to be? Also, since I don't have a manual yet could somebody tell me what the plugs should be gapped to? Thanks for humoring me with my silly little question? Any recommendations as to what brand of plug is best?
Thanks in advance,
Joel
