my 850's groaning 850

For some reason whenever i'm slowing down to a stop, something in the front end makes the car seem like it's revving. This generally occurs at about 5 mph down to a complete stop. Then it goes away completely.

This only occurs under these circumstances.

Another oddity is that it seems to only do it when the brake pedal is depressed. After i've stopped, within a second, I release the pedal and it goes away.

The only description I can give this anomaly is that it feels like the idle increases, but the rpm gauge it always at 1000.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
