Shifting Hard - 1998 V70 AWD w/80,000 miles V70-XC70 1998

3 months ago I purchased my first Volvo, a 1998 V70 AWD GLT with 73,000 miles. After driving a couple thousand miles I noticed that it was shifting hard between 3rd and 4th gears. Having previously owned GMs, I thought nothing of it and changed the transmission fluid. After the tranny flush, it once again shifted smooth… however in the last 2,000 miles the hard shifting has returned.

Does anyone have any advice… is this the beginning of the end for my transmission, or is there something else at which we should be looking?
