I have a 1996 850 turbo. I was driving on a highway last night when all of a sudden all the lights went out momentarily. This includes the headlights, radio, dash, etc. I also noticed that there was a whistling noise that was different from the regular turbo whistle but that also increased/decraesed with the accelarator usage. I got a little scared and thought that the alternator may be going. As I continued to drive I noticed that all the interior lights were kind of flickering and everytime I stepped on the break or stepped off the accelarator the headlights and all interior lights dimmed to the point of almost turning off completely for a short time. All the power things still work, although all the lights dim when I use things like the power windows. In additon, by the time I got home the traction off light was on and I never touched the switch. I have never experienced anything like this before. Any ideas? Is it dangerous for me to drive like this? Thanks in advance.
