Volvo 850 Fuel Pump location 850 1993

A local shop replaced (so they say) the fuel pump in my 850 to resolve a problem in which the car would not start. My wife picked up the car while I was at work. I decided to check their work but am beginning to wonder if the fuel pump might not have been replaced. The gas tank was not removed (bolts still caked with grease) and the area just to the front of the gas tank, where an external pump would be (near the in line fuel filter) is also undisturbed. However, I'm new to the 850 and on-line descriptions of the 850's fuel system are scarce. Where is the fuel pump located on a '93 850? Is there more than one? What should I look for to determine whether the fuel pump was actually replaced?

Many thanks.
Mark
